Microscopic photochromic particles are embedded in the lens. In bright sunlight, the lens particles react to UV rays, darkening the optics and ensuring additional glare protection. Tifosi’s polarized lenses may also take advantage of variable tint technology.

After using these sunglasses as my go-to cycling glasses, I'm really pleased with them. I can't really tell how much the photochromatic aspect works, but they've never let in too much light nor have they ever been too dark and I typically leave at sunrish for my rides. The short arms never get in the way of my helmet fitting. In our NJ humid summers they have only ever fogged up on the most super humid of days and that was only a couple of times all season. These are a great value....at $80 they're half if not 1/3 of the price of Oakleys and I'm really please with their performance. I don't treat them softly and still no scratches so far. If I eventually have to buy another pair sunglasses, I will definitely buy the same ones. I love the full lens over the 2 seprate lenses I used to wear. See photos for fit with my Giro helmet.
I don’t like dark sunglasses for golf, and these are PERFECT! They adjust to varying light (not really dark, just enough,), lightweight, don’t slip, and GREAT optics!
I started out mountain biking with cheap safety glasses, but wasn't fully satisfied with the lack of tint or UV protection. Wearing polarized sunglasses would be too dark when riding shaded trails.I tried out several different pairs of riding glasses and these were far and above the best ones. The ability to see in direct sunlight and in shaded areas is super nice and the visibility is great. They are also very lightweight.
Fits me like a glove.! lightweight and true to sizing. Appreciate that it repels water and mosquitoes. Only issue I sometimes see is the flare from bright lights and light reflections.
I have a few Tifosi glasses. I love the Fototec lenses. You can’t go wrong and priced right.
